Greg Nehf
(Published in Denver Post from January 10 to January 11, 2010)
Greg Nehf, proud father, husband, son, brother and friend, died Friday morning of complications from leukemia. He was 48 years old. Born June 2, 1961 in Denver, he graduated from Niwot High School in 1979.
A talented basketball player, he enjoyed a stellar collegiate career playing for coach and lifelong friend Lonnie Porter at Regis University, graduating in 1984. His passion for the sport led to a rewarding career as a college basketball referee and countless seasons on the sideline coaching the three children he devoted his time and life to. All of them have gone on to play for Broomfield High School. His love of nature and the outdoors will always be remembered for the beautiful landscape design work he did that graces gardens, yards and homes throughout the front range.
Greg is survived by his wife Patti and children Conor, Kyle, and Katie, his mother and father Paul and Norma, his sister Diane Parenti (husband Tom), his brothers Vic (wife Cerise) and Steve Nehf and the many loving nieces and nephews and in-laws that make up such a wonderful extended family. He will be sorely missed.
Services will be held at Flatirons Community Church, 400 South Boulder Road, Lafayette, Co., Wednesday, January 13 at 10:00 a.m. (viewing 9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.). Burial will follow at Broomfield County Commons Cemetery, 9th and Sheridan Blvd.
